1. The players
- A game needs at least 10 players. Everyone commits to all five weeks.
- You will be expected to sign a Conspirators contract before gameplay begins.
- Players are split into two sides: the Faithful and the Conspirators. Nobody is told who is on which side, except the Conspirators, who know each other.
- We, as the games masters, run the game, hold all secrets and have the final say on any ruling. We are not players and never vote.
2. Secret roles
- Before Week 1, we privately choose the Conspirators.
- Each player is told their role in private, by a sealed card or a private message. Never show your role to anyone.
- Conspirators know who the other Conspirators are. The Faithful know only their own role.
3. The weekly session
Each week the group meets for one session, in this order:
- The Reveal. We announce who was murdered since the last session.
- The Roundtable. The group debates, accuses and votes someone out.
- The Banishment. We reveal the banished player's true role.
- The Murder. One of the Faithful is selected by the Conspirators and murdered at midnight by message.
4. The Roundtable and the Banishment
- Every living player may speak, accuse, defend and lie.
- Each living player then votes for one player to banish. Votes are cast one at a time and read out loud.
- The player with the most votes is banished. In a tie, the tied players are voted on again. If it is still tied, we draw lots.
- We reveal the banished player's true role.
5. The Murder
- Between sessions, the Conspirators secretly agree on one Faithful player to murder. They tell us through a private group chat before the deadline we set.
- The murdered player is announced at the start of the next session. Their role is revealed, and the Conspirators never say who chose them.
- Conspirators cannot murder each other.
6. From beyond the grave
- Murdered and banished players stay at the table as Ghosts.
- Ghosts cannot vote, accuse, defend or share any information about the game. Their job is to watch in silence.
- Ghosts may still join in meals and conversation that has nothing to do with the game.
7. Recruitment (optional)
We, as the games masters, will determine if the recruitment of another Conspirator may take place. In which case, the Conspirators will choose one.
8. The finale
- In Week 5, or when there are 3 remaining survivors, there is a final vote.
- If a Conspirator remains in the final 2 after the final banishment, the Conspirators have won.
- If no Conspirator remains, the Faithful win.
9. Lying, fair play and respect
- You may lie about your role and about anything that happens inside the game.
- You may not lie to us about rulings, or about anything outside the game, such as your safety or your plans for the evening.
- No looking at other players' phones, cards or messages. No sharing screenshots of our private messages.
- If you are playing as a couple, you may not, at any time, check your partner's phone during the 5 week game!
- Play the game, not the person. Accusations and betrayal stay inside the game and end when the session does.
10. Attendance
If you cannot attend a session, tell us in advance. We decide whether your vote can be cast in advance, in private. Repeated absence may mean you are removed from the game.
11. Safety
Murder, death and banishment are fiction. No dare or punishment involves anything physical, anything unsafe or anything you do not want to do. Anyone can step out of any activity at any time, and nobody is ever expected to drink.
